Shouldnt be too long from now and I want to get a pair of Lima shovelnoses. What is the best thing I should feed them while they are little, or does it really not matter a whole lot? I am also going to be breeding covicts for the feeders, but this of course will not be their staple diet. Should I change their diet as they get older into something else?

Mine will eat anything. Krill, MP, Pellets, Feeders.

Ghost shrimp is a great starter food for really small Lima shovelnose. I've started my last few out with those and when they get bigger they eat feeder guppies and rosies readily. I've never had mine like nightcrawlers however I know of several people that feed theirs those and all my other shovelnose species (juruense, tsn, planiceps) love the nightcrawlers my Lima's have always just been picky. If they will eat it market shrimp and freeze dried krill are great options ~Trent

mine eats all kinds of crap. cut up market shrimp, blood worms, night crawlers. i caught him eatin pellets. he's so active when he's eating. i love it.
