Baby Lungfish

I went to my LFS and they had a baby African Lungfish for sale. He was about 2 1/2 inches long and pretty skinny. They weren't sure what kind he was. I was thinking about getting him for $20 but not sure how well his chances were on making it since he was so small. Also he would be going into a 75 gallon by himself. Do you think this is a big enough tank for at least 2 or 3 years or do you think I should pass this one up?

Lungfish are pretty hardy. You can house it in there for awhile. Just start feeding and it'll be fine. Save that poor fella from there.

Chopped up shrimps, sinking pellets, bloodworms. basically anything they will accept.

i'd be concerned that he might get lost in a 75 gallon. I keep my baby in a 2.5 gallon tank atm and do daily water changes. He finds his black worms easily and i can monitor him closely. He's doing well, not as much growth as i've seen (he came to me really skinny as well and stressed).

Great fish and should recover from nearly anything.

Yes. Beefing him up first is piroriy rather than making it grow bigger. Once the fella start eating, nothing matter.
