Hi all!

I recently bought three 2' monos. They are eating fine but they swim rather unusual.

They lay at the bottom of the tank all the time and swim up for food during feeding time. They do feed when fed.

They practically crawl at the bottom and when they do swim, it's heads up and tail wiggling then straight down the bottom. It appears as though they can't float almost.

They are in the same tank with 4 others at 3'. And the 4 swim normally. The larger one don't bother the smaller ones.

I have not seen these behavior before, is it normal for baby monos?

i hope you mean 2" and 4"...lol check water par also let them get use to the tank mine never did this though... :( good luck :)

Thanks for the reply.

I've only bought the smaller 2" monos 3 days ago and the larger 4" ones I've already kept for 1 month.

Water parameter is fine as the larger ones almost double in size since I first got them a month ago. I feed them white bait and bloodworm.

Hope the funny swimming resolves itself. Maybe they are just very young still because they swim like wrigglers. They spend all their time on their belly. Lazy fellas.

maybe they need some time to get used to the re new suroundings

keep ya temp up, and do regular water changes for a lil while...keep em on BW and try peeled prawns from the supermarket, they go skitz over em!!! where in aus are ya dude?

if they are small and skittish.. you are better off feeding them only live foods till they get more aggressive
