Currently in my 20gal right now but as soon as they get about 4-5" I will be able to put them in my 100gal. I would put them in there right now but i am afraid my oscars will eat them.

Just picked up the tems today and i've had the occels for two weeks or so now..

What would you guys recommend on feeding them to get color in them fast? I've been feeding them bloodworms and they gobble them up really fast..

As of now I have 3 tems and 3 occels..

The occels..

These are the only shots i could get of the tems.. they are new in the tank so they are very shy at the moment.

They look good. Feed them whatever they will eat... How many are in there?? 3-4 pbass in a 20g isn't a good idea. Espescially to 4" or 5".

they look great but i would have to agree with danh.. i dont think the 20 gallon is going to work out

I've grown pbass out in 20g and 30g tanks. I was doing over 50% a week water changes and filtration was ok, but they need more space and more water volume. Now that I've grown some out in 55g+(55, 75 and 180) tanks I see the difference it makes.

i have tons of filteration right now.. but yeah i know the tnak is small but they are too small to put in my 100gallon right now.. if i put them in there my oscars will eat them for sure.. :(

really.. you guys dont think they will get 4-5" in my tank?? seriously if i put them in my 100gal right now the oscars will just gobble them up. and my clown knife will beat them up for sure.. i plan on getting rid of the clown knife soon but the oscars are going to stay..

they look small in my tank thats why i figured they could grow to at least 4"..

water is cloudy from the wood.. :(

Filtration isn't really the issue. You MAY be able to handle ammonia and nitrites with that filter. Even in my 55g with two 5" tems (and a few other smaller low load fish) I had a problem keeping nitrAtes down, due to the small volume of water and their enormous load. I had a filter just like that one and an emperor 400. I did big water changes, rinsed media and vacced the heck out of the gravel.... but after a feeding nitrates would always skyrocket.

Those fish may very well get to 5" in that 20g. They may end up being perfectly healthy. I'm just saying that it's bad for them to do so. Like I said, I've done it before. I thought I was doing good with them at the time. Now after seeing others grow out in 55, 75 and 180g tanks it's amazing the difference and I can only imagine what ME growing them out in smaller tanks before really did to them.

So like I said, they may be just fine, but they should be healthier, and I have seen differences in bigger tanks. Try to get a cheap 55g and just use that filter.
