Baby Motoros and a Clown Loach?

I have the loach in a 20 right now and he's 7-8 inches and fat! I'd like to put him with the ray that is 4 inches. Can it be done?

Yes i dont see why not. I dont think that the clown will harass the rays they are pretty placid.

I have a Motoro w/ a clown loach and the loach used to harass him, until the ray pinned up against the glass for like two minutes! It was hilarious!

From what i've seen, in most instances it benefits having the clown loaches around the rays. In three different tanks where i have seen this, the clown loaches stuck with the rays and often swam on top of them. And i was told that it gives the rays a bit more security and they form a good partnership between the two. Looked quite stunning each time as well.

The only thing I'm afraid off is the size difference. I hope the loach doesnt get macho and decide to pick on it. I'll try it and let you guys know. If there is a ray death I'm holding you guys acountable!!! Just kidding...

I keep a few large clown loach with rays & for most of the time they are fine but if the rays get any cuts or abrasions especially on their tails the loaches will nip at them.
Just keep an eye on them
