My flowerhorn loves baby night crawlers. is this an issue? he doesnt like pellets at all wont eat them, just spits them out, went a few days without feeding him anything but he still wont accept pellets but he will kill live baby night crawlers, any suggestions? he spits out bloodworms too.

They're good in moderation but suceptible to sickness/disease/contaminants. Farm raised are okay but out of the yard no. You have no idea what you're feeding him when you introduce wild/outside foods. The more you spoil your fish on live foods the harder it is going to be to get him eat pellets. My advice is to starve him until he's hungry enough to eat a quality pellet. I suggest anything pellets by nls.

Cichlids can go 2 weeks and more without food. Starving him for a few days won't kill him.
