Don't get me wrong-the little guy eats like a horse......He is literally 3 years old

See's krill,raw shrimp,and SNL pellets-Bloodworms wont happen up here for the price they command.....earthworms I have yet to try...

You would be right...No light trickery......He had just eaten....I would gather that he is just working one up......The lump is not visible all the time by anymeans.......

Ah it looked too localized to be a food bulge. One of mine had some kinda nasty swelling for a little while that looked similar.
