Im gonna trade in some fish today at my lfs. My plan was for some food or something but i know they got baby RBPs and I have already ordered hujetas that will come in next week or so.

Would it work to mix baby RBPs with the juvie Hujetas? The tank is 120*40*50 cm.
So I know that I have to separate them when they are fullgrown.

There are also already a small shoal of Black skirt tetras that I figure will ease down aggression in the tank.

will work for maybee a month, then your rbp's will devour those hujetas, i would'nt do it

Hi.

I pretty much agree with that, the reds would waste any living organism you try to keep with them, so unless you are trying some life feeders do not throw any living stuff with them.

Cheers.

Really?? Are they so nasty?

Well...they are piranhas after all so any thing live in the tank is fair game for them.

Yes they are but get rid of that "hollywoodesque" image that they are like Jason Voorhees that will kill at once anything you throw to your tank, it doesnt necessary work that way man.

You might be able if you're lucky, to keep along with them, lets say.... some tetras or a plecos for some time and then you'd think you have succeeded but sooner or later one day you'll wake up in the morning and see that your plecos or tetras or anything you are tryng to keep with them is missing or half eaten dead.

If you love your fish do not put them with the piranhas unless you have in mind they are going to become feeders.

Cheers.

i put two feeders in with my solo red belly the first night he ate most of there tails, now they look perfect so he hasnt tried to kill them in the two months ive had them together. the red belly is 4 inches and was in really bad shape when i got him.my fried started with 15 and apparently wasnt feeding them enough because he lost 13 then decided he didnt want them anymore, i took them and one died that night it was 2 inches. now the remaining one is getting really fat i feed him pellets twice a day he is a hog and not shy at all way cool. every fish is different you could wind up having good luck or bad if the redbelly is well fed may work for a little while...
