baby red ear slider problem

my girlfriend has a turtle and he/she has serious problem

the eyes are bulging out and the cheeks are soo bloated that it looks like its going to pop.

basically the turtle looks like a cross bred from turtle and a frog.

can anyone tell me whats wrong with him/her?

it probably has a infection from getting somthing it its eye or nose. it realy could be anything. the only thing you can do is take him out of the water and keep him warm.hope he makes it

Most cities have specialty vets, we have one in tulsa that looked after our red eared slider, it sounds like its time for your pet to go to the doctor.

It looks like a bad upper respiratory infection. Take him to the vet to get atibiotics!
The absceses will probably have to be lanced as well.

I agree. If you can't find a pet, I ifnd that most museums (I work in one) are sympathetic to exotic pet owners plights, and if they have resident herpetologis or reptile curator, they may be able to help. Although I warn you, you may have to leave the turtle with them, as they cannot dispense medications. rest assured that it will be well taken care of though.
