i brought 2 baby red belly piranhas (1 inch) and they r in 10 gallon tank i m going to upgrade my tank afterward but they r fighting and eating eachothers fin so what to do know . i m going to get 2 more to keep with them so how much big tank i will need:headbang2

warm temps, hunger and small spaces can cause fish agression work out these kinks and everything should be fine

Howdy,

Depending on future tank space, you should get more rbps to spread out aggression. Juvenile Ps are notoriously cannibalistic, no matter the conditions. You can count on losing some as they grow up.

Having said that, you could introduce tons of plants to provide hiding places, that's about it.

I have never had any issues with that odd/even numbered junk. The only number you need to avoid is two. They are just fighting for dominance when there are only two of them. If you get 2 more try to get a 75 if possible, but a 55 would work fine for a grow out.

As stated above, turning down the temp a few degrees may also help.

get more, plan on one or 2 dying while they establis a pecking order, and GET THEM A BIGGER TANK! should spread out agression if they can get away from eachother

like i stated 1,3,etc it doesnt mean they have to be odd dude just not two , the more the better. why would that info be junk?

I have had multiple families of P's and I have never had one die due to the "Pecking Order".. Proper feeding and water conditions will prevent this.
