I just got a baby tig last night at about 3 inches long hes in a 90 gallon right now:). My question is what types of food would be the easiest to get him to eat? any other helpful tips to succesfully keep him are welcome

another question of topic can u add another filter to an already established aquarium with fish in it? my tank is a litle bit overstocked at the moment and i want to keep the water in very good quality.

you can add another filter to your tank. no problem. just make sure you leave the one thats already established on there. sorry i cant be of any help with your tig. havnt owned one yet. they are a beaitiful fish though. many say they are fragile at a small size. good luck with your tig!

I owned one for a few yrs. try red wigglers from walmart, you may have to chop them. and you can feed bits of raw market shrimp. those two should get him rolling then try to feed a mixed diet of fish fillets, shrimp, worms, pellets ect

Thanks for all the help. I got him to eat some bloodworms tonight and add some small guppies as the guys from the fish store said he was eating in hopes he might eat a few during the night or over the next couple days.

It really worries me when someone buys such a specialist fish as a tig and then asks beginner questions about feeding and adding filters AFTER they buy.

My advice is to become an expert on filtration and water quality and FAST

Sorry for the rant but there seems to be a lot of really basic questions on this forum about fish that I am scared to keep after 20 years of fish keeping and a thirst for knowledge.
