Just got a baby tsn about 4 days ago. 4 inch long and is currently in a 55 till it grows out. The tank is kept at 77 degrees and has not tank mates. water is tested daily and 50% water change every week. ive tried to feed it pellets, sinking pellets, worms, frozen and just tried raw shrimp but still did not take. what should i try/do?

not sure, didnt ask, but he was pretty skinny and still is now.

To be honest don't be dramatically over worried, when I first got my tigrinus a few days ago he wouldn't eat anything and then 3 days later he started taking blood worms out of no where, I think they just take a bit more time to adapt sometimes, and he's only about 5-6" as well

okay thanks much.

same thing happened to me. i think they need to adapt to your tank first then will start eating. try feeders it worked for me to get him to start eating

I know when i had my baby TSN i couldn't get him eating either.. I threw in some feeder guppies.. In a few days i started to see them getting picked off one by one at night. After that i converted him to other foods after i knew he was eating good.

my tsn didnt eat a thing either after i got him. didnt eat for about a week.
i was worried that there was something wrong.

then one night i sat in front of the tank with just about all the lights off and i finally saw it eat.
tsn are nocturnal so they tend to move and eat at night.
