Hello everyone. I used to have a 75 freshwater tank 9 years ago. Raised a Jack, oscar, pleco and florida gar in it for 7 years. I had to sell due to a move.
Recently, my wife approved her parents to buy our 2 year old a Fluval Edge for Christmas. She knew I used to have a tank and always talked about having another one. To make a long story short, it's 5 months later and I just setup a 125 gallon I bought off CL.
It's in the midst of a fishless cycle with a few residents from a 29 waiting. Did I mention the 29? haha that's another story.
Basically, when I went to stock my sons Edge (6.6 gal) I bought a baby oscar knowing I'd have to upgrade the tank. (My wife didn't know.) So since my son got attached, I used that to get a bigger tank. I got a 29 for free and knew that this would only hold them for a few more months. Now it's time. They still are more than comfortable in the 29 but not for long. I gave it another month.
Anyways, I'm crazy happy to own a 125 and get it all going. I found out that the fish guy, Snookin21, lives in my town. I got his number so as soon as my cycle finishes, I'll be stopping by his shop for some more tank mates.
