Just wanted to drop a quick note to say hello....again...
I used to be an active member but after moving from Ga to Cali back in 2011, well, life kinda got in the way a bit. I realized that my glass tanks wouldn't survive the move in the Moving Trailer, so I made someone a VERY sweet deal on my 125G, 75G, and all the Cichlids before moving. I brought my wet/dry with me. But between the remodel of the new house, job that had me away from home driving across country, then a death in the family, and general LIFE issues, I somewhere along the way decided to sell the sump too...
Skip forward a little bit and now I'm finally settled in San Anselmo California. The house is finished, life has finally settled back down to manageable levels, and most importantly, a new job that I only work 4 days a week and am home every night!
Soooo.... After long discussions with the wifey, (in Ga my 125 sprang a leak and she wasn't big on the idea of me EVER getting another), a loooott of Bottles of Red Wine, and some compromising, she has given me the green light to get another tank. Only stipulation being, no more used tanks, only new ones. Less chance of springing a leak with a new tank.
I still have some projects in the works, (pool remodel), so I'm not going to be diving 'debt first' back into the hobby. However I am starting to get my ducks together slowly. I had forgotten how much the actual price of the tank is only a downpayment on the accessories that go with it!
Petco is running their $1 per Gallon sale, so I swung by yesterday and picked up a 55G that I plan on building somekind of sump with. I'll post over in the correct forum on my questions there.
