For the past month or so I've been really busy with exam studying so I haven't had the opportunity to post any updates on my 75 hap tank aside form a few words. Considering I'm done now here are some new pics of my 75. The stock is still the same with 5 D. Compressiceps.

I'm going to the LFS tonight. Looking for more lacey rock. i'm going to also remove most of the smoother rock and plant a few vals to simulate the habitat a bit better. The Comps are growing well and I'm thinking of adding some more fish tonight. Thinking C. Moori or some nice peacocks but depends on what the store has.

This is the dominant male, currently about 4 inches long. took a while to get these pics since he went on a warpath when I brought the camera up. I think he's coloring up well though.

here are 3 lessers, not certain of their sex but the dominant male is making displays to some of them, though they don't last very long until he decides to chase someone else off.

this is the least dominant right now, about 2.5 inches. Luckily the dominant male is not too keen on chasing this one, thinking it's female because them male displays to this one most often.

apologies for the water clarity, i couldn't afford a big enough canister so I'm using a pair of HOBs rated to 70 gallons each for filtration, but it leaves lots of bubbles constantly clouding the right side of the tank.

what does the d. in the latin name represent?

Dimidochromis Compressiceps, aka malawi eyebiter. mine are currently juvis, they're going to at least triple in size to around 10 inches

Looks good so far and you idea for more lace rock and Vallisneria will make it look a lot like their natural habitat. I want to setup a Vallisneria bed tank soon with Nimbochromis polystigma.

any comments on improving the tank with stock or decor is appreciated, couldn't go tonight due to weather but soon will be improving...

New pickups!!! i got a trio of C. moori, which are currently about 1.5 inches long. they may be small but they are tough. the larger 2 are standing up to the non dominant comps pretty well despite being about 1/3 the length. Not too many interspecies skirmishes since the moori prefer the bottom while the comps hang out in the top/midwater. going to consider getting extra light and supplements for when i get the vals. pics of the comps will be up tomorrow.
