my newest fish has his back end dropping and he sinks a bit then straightens out.
any idea whats going on? I've never seen this before in the aros i've grown out.
i've done a 50% water change, added another established filter, and put some salt into the tank.
any other suggestions?
thanks
tim

Could be an air bladder problem. I don't know about aros but with smaller fish it can be brought on by over eating. Has the fish juststated doing this?
how big is it?
What type of fish is it?
how long does it drop for and is it almost vertical when it drops?

im treating my fish like this. raise temp. less current movement. epsom salt. lower water level. tetracycline or erythromycin.

Has it been moved shortly?

Give it rest. Higher temps and salt ( 1 table sponn per 5 gallons )
Leave it be.

My aros do that everytime I change the water, after a couple hours they are back to normal.

They do that everytime they are stressed.

They do that everytime they are stressed.

Then you must be doing something wrong with those WC's and one of these days you risk losing them.

This is a sign of acute distress, not all overcome these symptoms, and die.

thanks for the help guys.

definatly not swim blatter

i've dropped the tank level to aout 6", added a very weak internal filter, raised temp, added salt, and waited

hes gotten better. i'm sure he'll be fine in a few days
