hey everyone. it's been a long time (for me at least) since I've been posting on this forum. It's only been around 1.5 months or so since I sold off my fish collection. Looking back it's been both good and bad.
But now I think I'm ready to get into things again with some more focus, but I gotta keep things in moderation now :)

I think this time I'm going to just focus on a few things rather than try and make it a semi-mission to bring rare stuff into socal (i hope the people who brought my stuff still have them and are all well). sounds like there are exciting things like red istlanums and what not heading in this area (i really hope).

Hopefully the same familiar names on the cichlid forum are still around - I look forward to getting back in a while!

Cheers!

thanks...
i think i'm gonna try apistos, altum angels and planted set ups for a bit and see what happens.

What's up tien? I'm glad you're back. The big male grammodes is doing well. It eats pellets on a regular basis now.

Planted tank...........I'm getting the same itch right now :d

hey gani, i'm very happy to hear that big guy is doing well!
yeah i wanted to try something new and i've never been good with plants, so creating a biotope sort of environment is a new challenge for me. it's also nice to look at as compared to PVC pipes, rocks and driftwood, which has been a staple for me for a long time (nothing wrong with it, but just wanted to try something new).
i might be hooking myself up with some altums from richard and i'm looking around aquabid at the moment to see what kind of apistos are out there :)

but if any beani or red istlanums come around, i'll be lining up to snatch some up! :D

I was at my friends store last night discussing my plan with regards to a planted tank. He has a planted show tank and I was amazed by how it looks.

Beani & Red Istlanums..............yeah, Gary called last night and said that his friend Joe is going to be collecting soon.

Good to see your returning ewok,
i have been thinking of getting a planted tank because i hate the look of my big cichlid tanks atm, but every time i free up a tank i just stock it with ca/sa cichlids:)
i decided to leave the bartoni, went for grammodes, sajica gold and archocentrus septemfasciatus. A mate is getting alot of them so hopefully i will get some.
Did you keep your tanks or sell them too?
dave

Hey there Tien, Glad to see you back. I had to mtake like 4 months off to straighten out some crap in my life... Holler at me if you want some guidance with any of your planted setups. Or hardware for that matter....

hey guys, good to talk again.
plants and stuff are where it's gonna be for a while. rich didn't have altum angels... but we did have a funny pm conversation with either one of us thinking the other was talking about something completely different though!
i'm trying to get some stuff together, but gonna take some time hehe.
