Hello friends.
Well, what a few years.
I decided to have a break. Personal issues. The love of the hobby had gone. I wasn’t very well, mentally.
I decided to sell up and travel, as I found myself trecking though Thailand, India and eventually ended up in Australia for sometime, living & working out there.

Whilst I had a blast and experienced some truly amazing sights. I’d seemed to have filled the void I was missing. The call of home was upon me, I missed the greenery, (there is only so much dessert you can look at) and of course, roughing it for months on end, takes its toll. The thought of my cottage in the countryside with my dog soon seemed a welcome friend.
And now I’m back, well I’ve been back for months. In the back ground. Collecting bits here and there. A fresh start a new outlook on life and years worth of fish keeping knowledge behind me. I’ve found myself excited for the journey ahead.
Now for collections over the last few months.
fortunately, there’s seems to be an ample supply of lithodoras around the uk at the moment, 5 infact. So I’ve acquired two specimens. One very interesting, which I will bring to light in the coming months.
I was fortunate enough to be gifted two very large meglodoras, including one over 2 feet from a Friends pond closure.
Today my lucky stars aligned. A few small L. Pictus have come out of quarantine and I’ve been to collect a female of around 7 inches. (Following the sexing guide off planet catfish. I believe this to be female by looking at the genitalia , only time will tell if I’ve been successful)
I guess this time around it will be more quality over quantity, I don’t really plan on adding all that much more. A few ideas, but we shall see what the future holds.

The idea of a manageable amount with as least issues as possible, is the ideal outcome. placid fish, a peaceful tank. Nothing with a huge bucket mouth!

I shall share some photos, although they are currently in a pond, so they’re not of the best quality. Over time, there will be an upgrade With a viewing window to make life easier.

Really good to see you back!
I assume the Pictus was wharf as I had seen they have one - albeit prices (for many things) have gone crazy at present.

Hi Dave hope you’ve been keeping well my friend.
No, I had her from lee valley aquatics at a fraction of the cost, even myself couldn’t justify nearly £500 for a l.Pictus! I got mine for almost half of that cost.
