OK I realize I had water spots on the lens and the lighting bites so be kind...LOL

This is the first night in the set up of our new 110 gallon Long. (72x18x22)

Step 1...add Hyrdo5's (attached to pieces of tile for support.)
Step 2 ..add crushed coral
Step 3 ...add black gravel
Step 4 ...add water, decorations and hood. The hood is temporary. I have to install the lights in the morning and set up the main filtration. (FX5)

Hehe nice.
But wheres the phish?

Lol, Just joking with you I'm like that you know. :screwy:

Your not the only one...this board keeps mixing up the order of the pictures...LOL

To answer your question...the fish are in 9 other tanks at the moment. This one and a couple of other new ones are grow outs for the existing pack.

Oops those diamentions are a bit off. It's 72 x 17.5 x 20. Anyway it's an odd size for a 6' tank.

i personally would dump the artificial decor, i think natural tanks, with plants, driftwood etc, are much better looking, but other than that it looks good.:)

Plants rot and we're not into keeping them alive so we use plastic ones...We're out at the moment. The decorations are there to provide hiding places for some of the eventual inhabitants and although we do have a couple of pieces of bogwood soaking for the plecos my wife enjoys collecting intresting pieces like the Ent log faces. Most of our tanks are a lot more natural looking than this one but what can you do with basic black? At least I refrained from laying a life sized human skelleton on the bottom of the tank....
Maybe on the 240....LOL

OK day two of the Back in Black build...

I installed the main filter...FX5. overkill on a 110 gallon but what the hey right?

Cut out and installed the eggcrate tops.

I scrapped the old light fixtures...the hood is a nice looking design but the way it was set up had one 30" light fixture on each of the two hood doors.
The tank looked fine but when you opened the top you had the light directly in your eyes. I scrapped them and replaced it with a single twin tube 48" fixture mounted in an indirect configuration. (...not directly overhead. This is an intentional experimant.)

Tommorow I'll pick up biospira and transfur a couple of fish to get things started and of course swap out the two Hydro5 sponges with established ones from other tanks.

i have one on a 125, with 2 ac70's and i wish i had more filtration:D

Normally I use a pair of Emp. 400's but with this design of a hood that might not be possible. I'll have to check the size on a couple of AC HOB's that I have in stock. I also have to pick up a few tall plastic plants to hide the Hydro5's
