Took a few years off due to life being too busy and didnt want to take it out on them. Been lurking around here again and decided to make moves last month.
Picked up a 55 US gallon with two filters, stand, and decore for $150(steal). I live on the top floor of an apartment building and didnt want to go heavier. I have a 150 us gallon in storage for when i have a basement again. Over all pretty happy. Let my GF pick out a few also. The Birchr was hiding so I couldnt snap a photo of him.

Please! All opinions, ideas, and critiquing is encouraged. I'm no ass when it comes to peoples thoughts. The mass of you that take this hobby/life style seriously know a lot more than one person.

Looks good as a start up. I would put some rocks in there for some hiding places and go the hap/peacock route, but hey thats just a personal preference! I like the black on black.
 
Thanks for the reply. Yeah the decor came with the setup. Prob going to pick up some type slate this weekend to create caves/homes for the little guys. Gotta decide how I want to build them up(along the sides, along the back, high, low, etc).

Havent decided if I wanted to add anything yet. Waiting to see how they are getting along now.
 
looks like the bottom plastic is missing on the tank, will that cause you trouble? also is that carpet between the tank and stand? haven't seeen that before. nice looking start!! enjoy
 
The stand was home made from the previous owners and they used the piece of carpet. No trouble either.

Personally I can't stand castles, skulls, miniature sunken ships......... But its a start! At least you got some water with fish in it :)
 
I am right behind you. The plan is to redo all of that garbage that came with it this weekend. Wanted to get the little guys comfortable and the water corrected first.
