I have a black moor/fantail goldfish that ive had for about a month. He's just shy of 3 inches and I have him in a 30G by himself. The water is heated and kept at a constant 78 degrees or so. conditions are good all around. Considering that, how big will he get and how fast? I ask because ive gotten answers from 3''to12''.

It's hard to say. In a pond the fish might get to 8-10". In a 30 gallon, I'd say 6-8" max but you'd never know. If you do a ton of large water changes, the fish just might reach it's max size but then what are you going to do with a 10" goldfish in a 12" wide tank? If you want it to grow large it's better to have it in a pond or larger tank. Goldfish don't grow very fast at all, IME it takes them at least 3-4 years to reach adulthood. Their life expectancy is typically 15 years if kept well but I've read that some have kept them for well over 20 years.

I have 2 black moors and 3 brook sticklebacks in a 30 gallon. I do a 40% change every week, and it was heated when I kept my UPSIdeDOWN CATFISH in there but it hasn't been for a few months. The moors are 2 years old, fed a couple goldfish pellets a day, and they are merely 4 inches(didn't measure, but I tend to underestimate size)

They may have had a temporary diet of lake chub; my little guys vanished over time...
>_>

I would def lower the temp to at least 74-5 degrees, follow a 20-30% water change every 5-7 days, feed a mix of bloodworm, flake and pellet in moderation. But like previously stated they arent known for their fast growth so it may take a good 2 years to see any massive change,

I'd lower temp to low 70s. You'll want to do a mix of foods to get benefits of each, but you'll also need to be wary not to feed a diet too high in fat.
