Hey everyone,
Almost 2 years now and I'm finally coming back to the hobby. Going to drive 400 miles and pick up a tank and some fish from a fellow MFKer. Going 360 gallon. I wanted to go over what setup I'm getting and wanted your opinion on what I should do with the setup and what type of fish I should go.

Set up:
Its a 360 gallon with wood stand and canopy (8x3x2)
4 FX5 filters
and some water-flow pumpy things (the things that push out waves)
black sand

So my questions are...
Should I get a sump? If so what size?
4 FX5 good idea to run? or better for my electricity bill to go a sump and maybe 2 fx5, chime in guys/gals

Decor wise - driftwood? the usual? planted tanks? 3d backgrounds?

Fish:
Its coming with 2 breeding pairs of motoro rays
a clown loach
a clown knifefish
and a white catfish (I have no idea what fish yet)

So this tank is going to be a show tank right when you walk in to the house.
The selling point in getting the tank is that I promised my wife that it will be pretty and all the fishes will be attractive :)

So what do you guys recommend as far as fishes go? the CK i may get rid of, and maybe the catfish as well. But Rays and loach I want to keep. Discus? Bichirs? Dats? or other soothing combos that would be appealing to the eyes? Rainbow fishes? Congo Tetras? a Blue arowana? Give me your thoughts everyone.

Appreciate your time and feedback

Filter wise I am still partial to the canisters because it is what I have always used. But I am familiar with sumps. But my clear choice of canister filter is Eheim 2260 or 2262 by far if you have the money.

Since you have one clown loach already, I'd suggest several more. They are naturally a shoaling fish and tend to be more social and outgoing the more you have.

Welcome back and good luck with the trip and transport.

I'd def do a sump on a tank that size. And its tough to beat the classic monster community tank; aro, datnoids, rays, loaches.

You wanna run 4 canister filters? Why not just do 55 gallon barrels it's virtually a canister filter but way more bio media.

Yea what size sump your recommend?

Well, the deal is, it has to be a pretty tank.... So the loaches and rays are easy sell, but the rest, I may get denied.
