How may things like heaters, filters, impellers, pumps, meds, etc. does everyone keep? I am starting to feel like a hoarder, but if anything goes on the blink I think I have it covered. Am I the only one with this paranoia/preparedness? What and how much does everyone keep?

i keep extra bags of fish food because i order in bulk...thats about it lol.

For my personal tanks... I have a few extra power filters and heaters. Enough to get by in a pinch if I have a massive equipment failure.

Food spoils...........But if must, keep an extra bag of pellets.............

a must:
2 extra heaters
a hospital/breeder tank----------->55g
internal filter
2 power heads
I buy bbs from the store alive, but an extra capsule of bbs won't hurt

I have an embarrassing amount of heaters (about 15 of which are new in the box) ranging from 25W to 200W (the 300W's are all in use at the moment); 3-4 Penguin 200 HOB filters; an AC110 filter; at least a dozen green friggen nets ranging in size from useless to acceptable; a large supply of filter pads for my FX5's as well a roll of filter floss for my sump.... there's more, but I don't have it all cataloged.

To be fair, the "new in box" heaters were a gift from a lawyer friend who represented a certain manufacturer who's 'stealthy' heaters were known to become depth charges without notice. He had them in his house for years once the case was settled. The first time he came over he looked at me and said "I think I have something you would appreciate"

To be fair I am much the same. I have got lots of fish food from micro pellets to frozen and all thats in between. I have a silly amount of meds, mainly from when i started out in the hobby and was paranoid about everything. I have spare heaters, thermometers, nets, internal filters, test kits, scrapers, carbon, conditioners and enough pices of bog wood, false plants and logs to fill my tank 5 times over! The list goes on..

I buy any extra parts i can get at rummage sales and anything else i roughly have a bout a dozen or so heater about 6 filters and so much carbon i could problem use to filter a septic tanks

Extra heaters and extra u tubes for overflow box for I use an external box

I don't keep stuff just for the purpose of backup equipment. I have lots of heaters and pumps I use on and off for different times previous setups over the years. So I have lots heaters and pumps even tanks filters i'm not using I have lots of extra equipment if something was to fail.
