So a co-worker found an old (but nice) mirror out back behind our work and saved it for whoever may have wanted it. A thought occurred to me and I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts or experience with it.

How would a mirror be on the back side of a tank? It would hide any cords as well make the tank appear bigger. The only problem I could see is that it might freak the fish out. Any thoughts?

Phone glitch. Looks like I double posted. My bad.

I have used mirrors without problems. In my 100 I put one in front of the cracked back pane and in my 40 I replaced the back pane with a mirror. They age and don't stay super reflective, developing spots between the silvered back and the front , at least mine both did. No problems otherwise but check that they can support the pressure to avoid disaster

Think I didn't make it clear enough. It wont be replacing a tank siding, it will be out side the tank on the back side.

Its been done, doesn't seem to be very popular though.

Don't worry about the fish freaking out though, because they see their reflections all the time when the tank light is on and the room is dark.
