Hi All - i am in the process of setting up a 400gal tank for 2 Red Fin Giant Gourami
I am wondering as the fish bodies are fairly dark wether a black background is a good idea or not - once i get the tank in place its going to be near on impossible to change so want to get it right
Also looking for suggestions on what spectrum bulbs to get - tank is fish only and i have 4 x 3ft T5HO's (well the fitting anyway ) - looking at what spectrum bulb would be best to show of the fishes colours - tank is 31" deep but as mentioned lighting just so i can see the fish at their best
saw a thread about 18k bulbs , read stuff on the net suggesting 5.5k, 9k combination etc ...i know its down to personal pref of sorts but i want to get the tubes mail order as its heaps cheaper so returning them would be expensive and a hassle ...so any advice most welcomed
