background color for cichlids?

which one is better blue or black. i have read that the black really makes the colors pop.

Can't answer that, different fish look better in front of different colors and the lighting makes a difference as well!

Just get a background thats reversable...blue on one side...black on the other

Fish match their color to the surroundings so what ever types of fish you have consider what colors you want enhanced and have the background and substrate those colors.
Blue works great for a lot of SAs and black works well for africans.

unless you have black or very dark colored fish, black is the way to go. remember, contrast brings out the colors in anything

i plan on painting it. its already blue but i was thinking of scraping it off and painting it black.
