I was going to paint my 125's background with Krylon, but it's already inside and don't feel like taking it outside again and painting it and waiting over a week( live in ohio, so like 30 below daily) for it to fully dry.

So what other things could I use, I am using black trashbags for my smaller tanks(55 and below) but don't really want 3-4 trashbags spanning the background of a nice 125. :(

Also does everyone just cover the background(back peice of glass) or the back plus the two sides. A silver Aro will be in it, I hear their skiddish a shell so I'm thinking all three sides. Has to be black though, I like it better being black plus a silver aro will look good with black.:)

Take a look at window tint at walmart. See if they have some 5% limo black, should dark it out pretty well, just follow directions on the package, should only take soapy water to install to the glass, it's static cling so there's no glue or anything, so when it gets scratched up, you just peel the old off and install new. I did this on an old 29 I had, looked awesome. If you cant find the limo dark, then you can apply two layers of something lighter.

go buy some black background from your LFS and use seaview solution and it will look very nice. http://www.seaviewinfo.com/ that natural mystic background would aslo look badazzz in a silver aro tank.

Black bin bags ! Thats what i use all the time for my background .

Heres an exmaple of one of my tanks with bin bags on for a background .

Just get a can of black latex paint. Paint the back of the tank. And done!

A large black bedsheet. Get the cheap walmart brand, run's about 4 bucks for one to fit a king sized bed. This way is cheap, and should you get into taking pictures of your fish, it eliminates the glare that LFS backgrounds or trashbags will put off.

I've got one on my 50, it looks great and even brings out the color in my Firemouths!
