Hi everyone, im looking for a nice tall wide plant for the background of a 125 gallon tank. I need a broad leaf plant to hide filter outtakes and intakes. I also have uarus so they are known to munch on thin plants. I was thinking amazon swords but any other ideas is much appreciated.

Your uarus will likely annihilate any plant when they get larger... But for what you're describing I think a sword fits.

well, you would be best with swords but you could possibly do a java fern mat since most fish aren't to fond of eating java fern. However, I did figure out a way to keep plant eaters in a tank "happy" with out eating all the plants by adding a huge amount of duck weed and Salvinia Minima. They double in growth every 3 days or so with ferts added etc.My fish eat them all day long also and now have them all over. They're great for fry to hide in also.No C02 either~ just light and ferts

that does look amazing jason but my uarus would probably graze on that. I have a cluster of duck weed and moss floating in my tank. The moss is great my tire track loves to put himself in the moss. Ill try to mix it up with swords and the giantea stuff.

Uaru will destroy any softer leaf plant, especially plants that don't do well with picking, such as Vals. That is a terrible choice of plant for this tank. The Anubias gigantea will have a very strong, leaf, while being able to handle the lower lighting, and will maintain a nice dark color.

Oh and i was just wondering if you needed CO2 for the swords

No, it does not...It is though a heavy root feeder so I would use Roottabs
