Backwards fading Flowerhorn?

So I bought this flowerhorn at Petsmart a few weeks ago and he was blotchy black and white/orange. I expected him to be a fader of sorts but now he has changed back to a regular flowerhorn color and doesn't have any more white areas. Is he still gonna fade later or will he stay the color he is now?

Thought I said they were but anyways, yeah same fish in every picture, just black and white before and after several weeks it suddenly colored up like a juvenile flowerhorn should normally look

I have never seen or heard of reverse fading, I have no clue to be honest.
