Anyone know what diamter hose i need ?

I just bring it outside in the driveway, take it apart, and rinse everything out with tank water. That's where the gravel vac drains--in the driveway--so I just do it that way. It'd probably take all day to backwash it with gravity through the filter, and I'd have to open it up anyway to check see if the backwash really cleaned it out.

Screwed my back up pretty bad been he since the emd of march
I wanna drain it to the front garden before moving it

Ahhh yep. They are real heavy when they're full. I just muscle mine outta the stand, but I AM getting too old for that kinda stuff, too.

Howdy, backwashing can prolong cleaning intervals. I posted a thread on that some years ago. Draining will save your back, no doubt. I do not know the diameter, but I think it's the same as a python.

I always drain before cleaning and catch these animals living in my filter, guppies, shrimp, crabs, scuds....

Good luck.

I measured the end of the hose which I use for this and it is 3/4 inch. I'm not sure if that is stretched just a little bit (kind of appears so) from so many times getting hooked onto the 2262 valve. but I keep a little clamp on mine, which I can slip up and tighten with a screw while draining. I put a dab of Pam spray inside to make the hose slip on without me forcing or jiggling the valve, just so I don't get too rough.
I put a board on wheels in my cabinet, which my 2262 sits on so it is just slightly above the level of cabinet ledge. that way I don't have to LIFT the canister out the cabinet. it also allows me to tilt the can toward the door when it gets down to the last part of draining. and I can put the can inside then roll the plywood over to wherever I want it in cabinet.
I DO lift the drained can on top of an old cooler (as in food storage for outdoor activities) which also has wheels on one end and a pull handle on the other. so when I want to rinse the bottom dregs, I just roll that sucker out in the yard...then back inside when done. HOWEVER, I HAVE NON-CHLORINATED WELL WATER!! Only on rare occasions, if a main feed line breaks or something, does my water get treated.
I've had major spinal surgery, and this works for me. All you have to do is NEVER twist while lifting or lowering weight. position your items so you can go straight up or down. use your knees, and never swivel your spine.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the replies guys

Do you all run the filter or let gravity handle it ?
