I was picking up a sump off a salt water guy and this gem was in the back corner. I need this thing in my life for some reason so it's here now. Let's have some fun. What would you guys do with this? How would you plumb it and power it?
Big calcium reactor.. Ive been wanting to build a big reactor for a while.
I cleaned it out and put 1 cubic foot of K1 in as well as an airline and this thing boils perfectly. So now to actually do something with it.
The plumbing.
The top/access is a 2" PVC union. Male end permanently attached. I can plumb anything in 2" down from there.
The intake is a 1/2" reducer bushing to 1/4" quick disconnect elbow. The intake in the inside is 1/2" CPVC pipe extending 70% of the way down and open on the end.
The outake is 1/4" quick disconnect elbow inside a hole in the lid.
I don't need much flow and kinda like the idea of keeping the 1/4" lines. I have a spare Laguna 2400 laying around but think somethin right around 1200 GPH, efficient and submersible. So maybe just valve that back. Not sure how I would add air to a pressurized tube though?
Also thinking of plumbing the in and out as both in's and making the 2" an overflow or return to tank or sump as an idea. Any cool ideas?
