After the spring cleanout I put a jar of liquid live bacteria in my outdoor pond. The stuff smells like wrotten eggs. I can't think of the name. Could this be used on a brand new indoor pond or tank to kick start the filter with no cycle wait time? It's basically the same idea. Right?

Yes it is the same idea, but no cycle time is impossible. If you are lucky, using live bacteria, then you will be looking at around a week or so. I say lucky because I have bought several packages of this and it ended up the bacteria was dead.:irked:

Edit: It is called bio-spira.....I think.

This stuff would not be the very same stuff I put in my septic tank would it?

No, it is definetly not poo, but I honestly have no idea what bacteria it actually is. Let me go look at a package of it to get the ingredients breakdown....

Microbe-lift. It just popped in my head. That's the stuff I used in my pond. Are the bottles of bacteria at the petsmart the same basic thing?
