bacteria that causes white and tail to fall off

What is it called? I hear people on here talking about it. Causes the tail to fall off and it turns the skin white. Also how is it treated?
Can you treat a ray with salt in the tank?

I just lost a tank to this. Hard stuff to fight. If the caudal peduncle starts hemorrhaging, you already lost the battle. Try something strong is all I can suggest, hope you had better luck than me...
