hey guys
i was wondering if bearded dragons had enough bacteria to get me sick?
is it nescesary to wash my hands after hangling?
because i see people have them all over theyre faces

All reptiles are supposedly carriers of Salmonella Bacteria. I worked at an exotic pet store and handled tons of herps, including aquatic turtles (notorious for Salmonella) and never got sick enough to notice.

Young children and immune-compromised people should definitely be cautios and wash after contact with any lizard. Otherwise, you're just risking a bad case of the runs.

my pet store owner eats after touching every reptile

I used to not care unless I was cleaning the cages but remember they walk on what ever they do in that cage too.Its good practice to keep a cheap bottle of the hand sanatizer next to the cage.After each hold,put some on your hands,rub it in and your done,pick your nose all you want.For me its not worth the risk.It would be my luck,lol.

my girlfreind gave me a dollar to taste it,lol.Way better than dish soap,the things I do to entertain I just dont know sometimes.Her laugh was worth every penny,lol.

I personaly wach my hands every time I handle herps but that may be overcaucious

I always try to remember to wash my hands after handling my herps. Particularly with my water turtles. I don't want to take the chance of possibly spreading something to my other reptiles. It's just a good practice to follow.
