Hi All,

I need somehelp. I have a 150G with the fish listed below.

3 x Cory fish
2 x Siamese Algae eaters
2 x Flying fox
3 x Neons
2 x Dwarf Gouramis
1 x Gourami
3 x Large Platies
2 x Small Platies
1 x Bristol Nose Pleco
2 x Clown Loaches
1 x Tiger Pleco
4 x Amano Shrimp
5 x Medium to Large sized Angles

I think that is all. Oh ya, the problem, 1 very large black Angel fish (about 3" in diameter minimum). This Angel is very aggressive. Always going and nipping at all the other fish. 2 weeks ago I had 9 Neons (I know they like to eat them) but I now have 3 left. I bought 3 of the Siamese Algae eaters (about 1-1/2" long) at the same time and within 5 minutes the big Angel had one in his mouth. What can I do with this guy. I love him but he is eating so much and nipping on everybody else. I have a 5 Gallon at work in my office with just 1 Neon and 1 Ruby nose tetrain it. Would that be big enough to content the Big Guy? Any other suggestions. I really don't want to get rid of him. Please help me. :irked:

Five gallons is not good. I think you might need to get him another tank or get rid of him.

i think he doesn't know he is suppose to be an angel.

get rid of the others and get other angels or discus or maybe severums.

Take out anything that will fit in an Angels mouth and put them in the 5 gal :)

Moving the biggest angel will only delay the problem untill the next biggest angel notices that neons fit in it's mouth too. Unfortunatly neon tetras are angels natural food in the wild, so there is not much you can do to stop them snacking on them. :nilly:

Replace them with some some bigger tetras or other larger community fish.

You could also get a nice 20gal 'growout' tank where you keep the small fish and anything new like the baby SAEs untill they are large enough to handle life with the big boys in the main tank.

This is generally how MTS (multiple tank syndrome) starts :D

Cheers
