Hey guys,

My flowerhorn has stringy poop for the past 2 1/2 to 3 weeks.

2 weeks ago I tried the epsom salt soaked pellet method for about a week long.

Now I just started the 2nd round of API general cure since the fish has stopped eating.

Nothing seems to work. Is he a goner? He hasn't eaten in over a week.

Thanks

Try some metronidazole and some medicated food like hex shield. Can add some levamisol as well. Hope that helps.

Cichlids aren't my specialty but my suggestion. Hope other cichlid keepers can help.

So it looks like my flowehorn is done with stringy poop. But....He still isn't eating. I still see some clear poop, but it's bulky.

Any idea or suggestion?

Try some food with garlic soaked in it. See if that can intice the fish to eat. If still not eating then need to look at other causes.

The poop under a microscope is th best way to tell if there's something there still or not completely treated.

Try the food with garlic and levamisol.

What regiment did u give the fish by the way?

Metro and force fed it hex shield food
That's a good option. Try the levamisol. Maybe Charney Charney can make a suggestion.

I will definitely look for levamisole. What do you think about force feeding with epsom soaked pellets?

It's another treatment choice but maybe wait and see if it eats on its own. Hate to see it get really stressed.
