I had quite the day yesterday. I had been preparing for the last couple of months to finally setup my "dream" 120 gallon tank that I had purchased from someone off Craigslist. The guy said it had a small leak so he resealed it. Based on the look of his reseal job, I was not confident he did an adequate job.
I had never resealed a tank before and was not confident in my resealing abilities so I had a local breeder reseal the tank for me (for a small fee). He said he filled it to make sure it didn't leak and that it was totally good to go.
Confident that he did a good job (he has resealed most of his personal tanks without any issues), I was finally ready to set it up.
I located the tank in my office/den. I also got my new FX5 delivered the day before so I was pumped!
I think you know where this is going...
I filled it halfway and let it sit for a couple hours to make sure it was holding. I then topped it off, added my PFS, and turned on the FX5.
About 5 minutes later I hear a spraying noise only to look down to find water gushing through the bottom seams at a high rate.

20 minutes later (after my wife and I bailed as much water out as we could), my den was flooded and the damage done.
Thought I'd share my story with you all. Has anyone else had a tank crack or break and flood their home before? I wonder how often this happens to people and from now on, no more used tanks for me, no matter how good they look, what a good price they are, and how well sealed they appear to be.
