Alright, so I started off with a 10 gallon a couple months ago. Neons, a dwarf gourami...the usual. Then I caught a 25 gallon tall on sale at the LFS and just had to have it. Now I've got two of them...sale was really good. So, here it is monday and my new 100 gallon is going to be delivered this afternoon. So here's what I want from y'all.....

Stocking ideas. I've got a clown knife that is going in the tank, but no idea what else would be good to go in there with him. I want something predatory but not insanely aggressive. I was thinking asian needle gar (AKA Needlefish) and some silver dollars or monos.

I appreciate the ideas, and hope to soon be able to get a REALLY big tank. I just bought my own home and have an extra bedroom and concrete directly beneath the carpet. (Thinking on of those big cinder block tanks like people have been bulding over on the articles section.)

The knife gets HUGE and in a hurry so that it doing to limit your tankmates. Personally, I'd do what I've got going on at a slightly larger scale. Bichers, geos, dats, and a few fish for color.

Red tail Barracuda's. Pbass. Bircher. Hujeta gar. Fancy pleco's. W/e comes to your mind

Whatever comes to mind? BAD idea unless you have a much bigger tank on order. I wouldn't recommend getting such large species as these for a 100 gallon.

What about Central american Cichlids? Dempsey's, Green Terror's, Firemouth. Oscars etc. Look into those or African cichlids (More agressive so do your homework on them b4 buying) instead unless your next tank is gonna be 250+ gallons...maybe bigger?

id get a small silver aro, they would be fine with the knifefish

going to need a bigger tank for an arowana. you could do a nice S/A cichlid setup or a amazon setup for the loricariidae. maybe a dovi par?

or get you some giant gourami's and some killer clown loachs.

what are the dimensions on the 100gl?

Tank is 60" long, 18" high, and 22" deep. I really thought about doing a small Aro, but I'd certainly want to have a MUCH larger tank for it later on. I've thought over the cichilid thing too...but I really just don't care for them. Call it a personality quirk. I do already have the clown knife. He's 7" long and sharing a tank with my leopard puffer currently. (Surprisingly they get along well.)
Anyway, thanks for all the suggestions, keep 'em coming as Ijust got the news that the tank missed the truck and won't be here for another two weeks. Lucky me!

baby arow grow out, clownknife, no P.bass unless its a growout... i like tainteed glorey's idead about the geos, bichirs, dats might get to big for a 100 but i'm not sure

it all really depends on what fish you like. Id go to the petstore and just look around a bunch and then come home and look the fish up.What kind are you looking for?
