Well I wanted to stock my tank a little bit and purchase two 6in. Tin Foil Barbs with Angel my motoro stingray at 5in. Well for about 4 days he was fine. Today I looks at him there is a small chunck of his disc missing and on the edge of his disc it looks scraped and is white unless its the sand, but I'm worried. Should I get rid of the barbs asap or should I give them another chance? Please Help

I believe its the barbs due to the chunk missing. As for the scrape I can't accused the barbs because some sand was on it, well I got to go I'l be back asap.

i have a hard time believing the barbs did that

Well It has to be them because I had my ray for nearly a month and nothing happened. Then a few days the two barbs are in my ray misses a small chunk of his disc and on the other side of his dis is scraped with a red mark and white flesh sticking out. Tomorrow I'm going to bring the barbs to the lfs until I'm comfortable trying again, and I must wait until my ray heals.

you got your ray 2 weeks ago................

but they are on your long list of perfectly safe tank mates.... how could this happen?

I have 3 9in tin foil barbs with my rays, don't see it happening. Their mouths are pretty small and if I am not mistaken, they eat plant life in the wild. In captivity they eat whatever you feed them. The ones I have are peaceful. But I guess they maybe exceptions to the rule....
