alright-now I am getting ticked off-I lost my oscar about a month ago that I've had for a few years. Then I picked up three orinos and my pike ate 2 of them so I took him outta the tank and put him with my Tilapia. Then I picked up a green terror that had some ripped fins but was in a tank with like 25 of em and I figured he would be okay so i bought him.He wound up with some colummnus or howver ya spell it and i put him in a hospital tank and hes okay now-healthy etc.so i put him back in my tank with the others and they're now beating the crap outta him:irked:Then my wife tells me a few minutes ago that my frontossa was laying on the floor in my daughters room dead and hard as a rock.I cant win lately!every time I turn around theres an issue with my fish lately.Oh-my last orino was also getting ich and I boosted the temp up and added aquarium salt so its getting better but I am getting pretty aggravated lately.I am losing fish(money) all the time lately for some reason.Anybody else go through times like this?when everything that can go wrong-does?!

im sure everyone can agree it takes patience and alot of mistakes and well money to get things perfect and even then things always seem to go wrong. Worst is when u have a perfectly established tank with fish youve had for year and one day you one flash...thn he other...then they start dying..then they are all gone but one. its a frustrating hobby but hang in there, the hard days will come and go. MY cousin has lost his entire espensive stock twice for unkown reasons...he still keeps going :) it happens.you just have to learn and do the best u can. :) good luck cheer up.

yeh that happens

i rehomed a pictus cat an put it in with my african fry grow out tank and the bloody fish wedged itself and died i found the bloated carcass a few days later but by then it was to late one by one the fish that were in the tank with it died and i lost my whole tank could not get the water chemistry back no matter what i did i eventually pulled the whole tank and remade it as a brackish tank

even this last week i brought three aristochromis christyi and under the advice of a friend who works for petland put them in a 55g with my zebra male an female and 9 blue johani to the which the male zebra beat the biggest christyi to death overnight

but as it is with this hobby things happen

i have found fish to not fit the profile i find of them on the net and i have found fish that fit profiles to a t it all depends on the personality of the fish and i believe also on the environment they are grown in

man that must sucked hard to find your frontosa like that

sorry to hear of your bad happenings may yoru tide turn

yes,the one with columnaris was quarantined and "fixed"within a week.I kept him in there for almost 2 weeks to be sure and put him back into its original tank last night with all the fish it was originally in with and they're now picking at him.:irked:
anyway,I've beeen in the hobby for approx.25 years now so I am surely not going to stop now but I am just aggravated and venting here with you all.Its like you all said, theres times where years go by with no issues and then its times like this where it all goes wrong. My orinos I got over since I still have 1 left and its doing better but my oscar and frontossa really ticked me off.Especially the frontossa since its an expensive fish and was getting very big and healthy til it committed suicide last night and jumped.oh well **** happens
