Last night after the kids went to bed I decided to relax a bit and watch the tanks. I got down the basement stairs and was knocked over by a horrible smell. I went into the fish room, it seemed to be the source of this terrible stench. Looked everywhere, did a fish jump out and rot? What is this smell!:nilly:

Opened the window to air out the place and there it was:

I left my entire shoe box of frozen food out on a table (in an 80 degree fish room) under the window.:irked: The last time I feed frozen food was last Friday! All that krill, Prime Reef, Silversides, blood worms...WASTED (and stinky)!

So I later today I'm going to replace $40 worth of food.

Anyone know a good memory booster supplement?;)

WOW. Your fish go a long time without anyone looking at them eh?

No, I go down at least twice a day.

It's just that the box was kinda hiding behind the 55 gallon under the window. I don't even remember putting it there, it's a weird place to set down a box of food. I was messing with the CO2 on the 55 friday night so maybe that's when I put it there. I really don't remember!

I noticed an "off" smell Sunday, but thought it was the crab tank ('cause that stinks) and changed the water. Guess I was wrong.

BTW, I'm just getting over a sinus infection, so my sense of smell has been off. I can't believe my husband didn't say anything about the smell!

I did that with a full 8 oz. bag of frozen krill once. I found it before it got that stinky, but it had still made a pretty nasty mess! :(

They say your memory is the second thing to go! I dont remember what was first. :(

I bet the silversides were the worst, that was probably not a nice smell.

Hang out with someone with OCD. If you catch the disease and recover, you might have lingering symtoms that help you stick to your routine (like opening the lid of your tank five times before feeding...) :)
