Well instead of sugar coating the bad news I’ll just come out and say it. My gulper catfish died. Last night I saw what looked to be his skin peeeling, panicking thinking it might be slime coat. I msgd a good friend of mine kno4te kno4te to ask him what he thought and he said he agrees it looks like slime coat. I had school today and no Paraguard so after school I went home to find him dead, we were going to the store for medicine. Just has to make sure he was still alive. And he was not. So I went to petco to get some medicine to treat the tank and get the disease gone and maybe get another 1 in about 2 months that’s with saving up, cleaning and finding one. Well I stumbled upon this beauty. And I couldn’t pass him up. Mind u, he’s gonna try and go in my 75 with my other FH it’s a big tank and they are very small and there is some hiding so I’m hoping it won’t be that big of a deal. If they do start fighting I can put him in my 29g until the 50 if fully cycled and fish ready. image.jpgimage.jpg

sorry for your loss/ congrats on pu

Sorry about your gulper catfish and nice pickup. Unless I'm mistaken and It's just washed out from stress looks like shortbody fader flowerhorn. Possible mistake? yes. Probably not the best idea too have just two males in one tank even if juvenile and even in a 75. If you can get a divider too separate them that would be a perfect grow out for the first couple months as small as your FH are.

I think growing out with divider Isa better idea. Then at 4-5 inches OP can decide which one he likes more and just keep that. Always better to have more to choose from.

Sorry for your loss. But good luck with your new flowerhorn, since it’s from Petco it can turn into anything.

Honestly I’m a little skeptical maybe lindros the white one is a big part Midas or red devil. Does have a decent size hump tho.

Imo a standard ZZ rd will take a while to hit 10 inches because most of them are bred to have a shorter body and a stockier build.A 50g will be last you a while with a strict WC routine,if it does get bigger than 10 inches imo 75g min.@Magnus_Bane scored a sweet Rd from petsmart.
