Woke up this morning and went to do my usual morning feeding. Was in a rush for work and I am now glad I did not skip this. What i found was my 55 gallon breeding tank (presently stocked with a pair of gold severums 6") leaking. 
Fortunately this had just begun and I was able to rescue the pair, they are now in my 180 with 4 oscars.
For the good news, my fluval fx5 arrived today and I just finished installing it on the 180 gallon tank. The setup for this filter is carbon, polishing pad and bio max.
I hope to see a change in my water clarity shortly.
Now, maybe I can convince the wife to swap out the 55 gal for a 120........... truth be told................. i am not that lucky.
