Hey I got back from the vet with my corn snake and he said he probably won't make it.. My corn is about 11 inches and very small, mainly due to the fact that she hasn't eaten a hard meal in about 5 weeks. I have been tube feeding her as the vet said. He is extremely week and can barley slither around. The vet doesn't know what caused her illness but I think I do.The last food item she ate about 5 weeks ago was a small anole. I forgot that almost all anoles are wild caught and are riddled with parasites. I guess he got a parasite. He was my first snake and I really don't want to lose him. The vet said to keep tube feeding him every 3 days until he puts some weight back on. Than I can try an alive pinkie or something. I hope he pulls through.

Hope he makes, it

Sounds like another case of "sudden serpent death". There are so many diseases and problems with reptiles out there that no one knows about. It could be a whole slew of things that we will never know about and I am sure it is not your fault. Don't lose faith man. You can get her through this.

Thanks Chris but he doesn't look good I found him in his water bowl upside down with his heard out of the water. He is just so weak. I am trying to minimize the stress as much as possible but he is just to weak and lost a ton of weight. I just feel so bad for him, I hate seeing God's creatures suffer. I also dicovered he has crusting around the cloacha.

Have you tod your vet about the anole/parasite possibility? There must be some supportive care beyond hoping it eats and tubing it. Are there any feces you could check for parasites so you could attempt to treat for it?

I did tell the vet about the anole, I had a fecal sample run etc. He still doesn't know.
