So, I´m currently not home right now and have been gone for the past four months.
I talked to my dad last week who´s been taking care of my tank while I´m away and found some bad news.
I lost my golden clown knife that i´ve had for almost three years. He was around 17 or 18" the last time i measured him from the glass in January so I am assuming he was at least 19" when he had died.
I will upload some pictures of him that I took last year in Dec or i think it was this past January... can´t really remember.

This doesn´t have to do with knife fish, but i also lost my 7 or so juvenile vieja fasciatus that I have bred and raised till they were 2-3". They were beaten up to death one by one from the alpha personality black belt that I had bought. I actually bought two of them the same size as the rest of my juvenile cichlids, but now he´s the only one left.
Sadly, I don´t have pics of the dead fellas.
Now I´m stuck with a 120g with a male vieja fasciatus divided with a male flowerhorn. and a blackbelt in a 20g tall.
I also lost the female fasciatus cause the male kept on beating on her while I was away in school last fall. They had bred for me a numerous amounts of time around 8-10 and sadly I don´t have any of there fry because once I raise them to a good inch, I am away from home again and my dad takes over.
I´m not going to blame my dad, but honestly, if I was there, these problems probably wouldn´t have happened as I´ve experienced losing lots of fish throughout this hobby. I did lose lots of juvenile fasciatus myself during the summer and actually saved a lot too, by acting quickly and solving the problem. The female shouldnt have died because I would always divide the pair when I see her starting to get beat up, but I wasn´t there to see it happen and act to it.
Oh well I guess, I´ve lost thousands of dollars in this hobby and feel like I´m losing more as years go by. However, this is part of the hobby as I have learned a couple years ago.
Since I haven´t been too active I´m actually saving money and the stress that my dad probably has to go through.
Don´t know what I´ll do next, but my tanks are probably looking really empty right now as I can imagine.

yeah i know my parents don't have the same obssesion and experience i do they think you just drop in some food and your good lol

I feel your pain. I've lost a whole collection of African Cichlids once to bloat and come to find out my dad was feeding them everyday I was gone about 2 or three times. I can't blame him though they were fun to feed. I had even lost my spiny eels in there that I was able to hand feed frozen bloodworms! But this is an opportunity to start over again and maybe get something else you didn't have the space for previously.

thank you guys.
yeah, i guess it does give me options to start over again.
too bad i still have a fh and two cichlids, but who knows. i might be able start a cichlid community tank going or something.
