I recently got a 3in Silver Arowana and had it housed with 3 Poly. Senegal(1 is 3in other 2 are 4in), a 3in Striped Raphael, and a 3in feeder goldfish(i was waiting to feed to my gulper cat)...Anyways they all seemed good for three weeks. The aro was destroying crickets eatin 8 a day. The polys and Raphael ate frozen krill and always looked bloated...I dropped 3 crickets in the tank and left for the gas station, came back after literally 20 minutes, and my Aro Was Missing his left eye..What could have done this. I already removed the Raphael, cuz it was my first guess. Now everytime I look at the tank an see the poor little guy lookin like a pirate..I get angry...Help me figure out who did it...then I'll make an exmple of it and feed it to the gulper...:) Avenge my Aro...

This is why many experienced keepers give the advise that small aros should be kept without tankmates. You silver will adapt fine to life with one eye, hoping he has been removed from this tank.

^Agreed, 100%

It won't do any good to feed his tankmates to the gulper.

... unless it make YOU feel better.

donate or give it to someone who can take care of it and you can restart with another one. I dun see the point feeding it to some other fishes as fish food....

Im not actually going to feed him to the gulper...Just angry at the time. the Raphael was one of the first cat's i ever owned...

and the Aro is housed by itself now...still eatin several crickets a day just dont attack as quickly...Im sad of my own stupidity, just thought they'd be alright together...

I agree, especially since they are almost on the endangered species list ;)

sorry for your loss bro but next time, dont mix young aros with other fishes.. but look on the bright side, atleast you only have half the worry of silver aro keepers having their monsters DE.. lol..

The chain of misinterpretation...

He was saying that he would feed the attacker to the gulper not the Silver Aro...

But ya depending on the size of tank you should grow it out by its self....
