I got up this morning and started doing my water changes. When I got to the tank my female salvini and male red texas were in I noticed something floating near the top. I turned on the lights and to my horror saw my female all beat up and bloody. She was still breathing and moving a little bit. I rushed her to the hosptial tank and put in some melafix and tried to hold her upright in front of the filter outlet. She made it about 30 minutes then died.

Ahh not good, but, its a risk you take.

Red Texas are nasty fish bro... Up there will Dovii. I would never keep them with anything. Its just not possible. Well it is, but extremely hard.

Yeah I knew this too. They were a mated pair. He never did anything like this before. I have had them spawn two time previous to this with no incident. I guess even fish get tired of their old ladies.
