I just bought a domino damsel today (he's about 1 inch), put him in the tank, went upstairs to do some cleaning, went back down about an hour later to check on him, and my humbug damsel made pretty short work of him (he's about 2 1/2") He split his tailfin and tore up his anal and pelvic fins :irked: I spent two hours with a net and a wooden spoon trying to get him (the tank is a 72g FOWLR SW system). So far, no luck. I added some melafix to help the domino's fins, but I know if i don't do something about the humbug, he'll kill the domino. I suppose all i can do know is remove the rockwork and swoop out the humbug but...

is there any other way???

clear plastic bag (fishbag) lie it horizontally with a little sand in it to hold it down then add some food at the end of the bag the humbug will go in grab the bag and remove. Thats what I did to catch damsels out of my tank. I got 6 damsels out in 40 minutes. Oh yes, I really dont recommend damsels either they are pesky little fish that become a real nuisance when you want to add in fishes you really want to keep.

Thanks! I'll do that :) I really don't like damsels at all (aside from the domino, I LOVE that guy :D ) The tank was given to me by a friend. I also have a blue damsel, a yellow tang, and a bicolor basslet.

Partition the tank.
With all the live rock in there, i don't think that would be a possibility:(
