Thanks for the ID guys. Did some reading up but couldn't find enough information to clear my doubts.

1) Is the highland goonch a bagarius bagarius (there seems to be two types under this name - a dwarf and a giant)

2) how big will this guy get?

And can anyone point me to a thread to help me with identifying future specimens?

Any help is much appreciated thank you!

He will get HUGE! This is the exact species caught on river monsters.

So based on Rob's thread I would say this guy is a North Indian species (B. bagarius)?

Ya that ain't no tropical Borneo goonch. Definitely a temperate HLG.
