"Bait" Earth worms

I was at Ace hardware today. I saw these worms for fishing. They are night crawlers. They are in a unfamiliar grey media (The guy said it was their food?). Has anyone seen these? Are they o.k to feed my fish? They are CHEAP like 2 bucks for 24 huge worms. I held off and thought I would ask the pros!

yeah they are ok.. theyre just farm raised worms

and the gray media is kinda like recycled cardboard to keep the worms moist

Thats what I said....They have two other flavors garlic and some other one. I'm getting some tomorrow.

ya I was gonna say half decomposed newspaper... I've seen that before... It's probably something along those lines...
